CORT: Contingency Off-Road Readiness & Training is a one-day course provides hands-on training and practical knowledge to safely operate 4WD vehicles off-road, prepare for unexpected challenges, and maintain self-sufficiency in disaster or remote travel scenarios.
Objective:
Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical exercises, participants will learn:
Off-Road Driving Fundamentals

Basic 4WD systems, vehicle operations in austere terrain, and terrain navigation.
Disaster Preparedness & Self-Reliance within the scope of vehicle operations

Everyday Carry (EDC) items, “Go Bag” essentials, and resource management.
Vehicle Maintenance & Basic Recovery

Pre-trip checks, common troubleshooting, and self-extraction methods (without winching).
Navigation & Route Planning

Reading road atlases, topographic maps (forest service/gravel roads), and using GPS/compass for alternate routes.

Self Reliant Training employs a dynamic, interactive teaching approach, blending lecture-based instruction with practical, scenario-based exercises. Participants will engage in simulations designed to replicate real-world urban emergencies, fostering the development of quick decision-making and effective problem-solving skills.
